Lara Desay
Lara joined our Risk Transfer team as a Partner in October 2022, bringing with her a wealth of invaluable insights gained from her prior role as the Head of Origination and Operations at Scottish Widows' bulk annuity division.
With an impressive 15-year career in the pension and insurance industry, Lara has played a pivotal role in executing both insurance and reinsurance transactions, ensuring a seamless experience for both trustees and members. Her unique perspective as an insurer provided a comprehensive end-to-end view of de-risking transactions. In particular, Lara led a number of complex de-risking transactions including, £15bn of longevity transaction between the Lloyds Banking Group Pension Scheme and Scottish Widows and the execution of Scottish Widows’ largest bulk annuity transaction to date, the £880m buy-in with the Littlewoods Pension Scheme.
Lara's contributions extend beyond her professional roles. She actively represented Scottish Widows on the Association of British Insurers' de-risking working group, where she shared her insights into the latest industry developments within the pensions and insurance sectors. Her extensive knowledge encompasses insurer buy-in pricing and administration requirements, acquired over eight years in senior roles at leading buy-in insurers.
