Ben Farmer
Ben is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and a Senior Investment Consultant based out of our Glasgow office, having joined us after graduating university in 2013. He provides advice to pension scheme trustees and sponsors on all aspects of their investments, to secure better, more sustainable outcomes for their members and employees.
Ben has experience of the full range of investment services, including: beliefs and objectives; strategy, ALM, structure and risk modelling; asset transitions; manager selection, implementation and monitoring; ESG and responsible investment; governance issues and risk transfer.
Ben advises a range of Defined Benefit schemes across both the private and public sectors, with assets under management of between £100m and £25bn, but particularly enjoys advising large schemes on technical matters such as Liability and Cashflow Driven Investment.
Aside from advising his clients, Ben is also the host of our popular investment podcast series. In his spare time, he can often be found on the rugby pitch, hacking up a local golf course, or hiking in the mountains of rural Scotland.
