In 2018, we were pleased to be appointed as the investment advisor to the pension scheme of a UK manufacturing company. 

Whilst Responsible Investment was not an immediate priority, we felt it important to keep the trustees aware of the issues and their growing responsibilities in this area.

Building on several training sessions and helping the trustees develop their beliefs, recent reporting on Environmental, Social and Governance and climate issues to highlight areas of risk and potential discussion topics with managers has helped build understanding and engagement.  The trustees are now directly challenging managers on different topics and holding them to account.
