Hymans Robertson Foundation launches a hardship fund for charities
06 Apr 2020
A charity Hardship Fund has been launched by The Hymans Robertson Foundation in response to the growing and urgent needs of the UK’s most vulnerable people and communities as a result of COVID-19.
The Fund will be open to applications from the 6th April for the aid of more than 50 charities which are already funded and supported by the Foundation. Charities will be encouraged to complete a short application for individual grants between £500 - £5,000 and the Foundation will meet weekly to make funding decisions.
The Hymans Robertson Foundation would also like to hear from other LLPs, professional services firms or businesses who may be interested in joining this initiative, either through a donation or by co-funding. The Foundation has established governance, policies, procedures and payments in place to assure other co-funders that funding will be targeted to reputable UK based charities.
Launching the Hardship Fund, the Foundation's Chair, Clive Fortes commented:
"We are living in unprecedented times which has been particularly tough for the charity and voluntary sector. The Hymans Robertson Foundation’s Hardship Fund represents the beginning of our efforts to meet the growing and urgent need. While the UK and Scottish Governments' response to increased funding to the third sector is very welcome we know that our charity partners desperately need emergency funding now. The Hardship Fund offers our existing partners access to additional funding and remote volunteering support to the most vulnerable in our community. I hope that other firms will join our initiative to make a positive impact in these uncertain times."
