SimplyBiz Group partners with Hymans Robertson to provide strategic asset allocation indices

02 Apr 2019

The SimplyBiz Group, the leading fintech and support service business, has today entered into an exclusive, long-term partnership with Hymans Robertson to provide strategic asset allocation services to the 3,700 advisory firms that it supports. The partnership will see Andy Green, CIO of the leading pensions and risk consultancy, advise the Investment Committee of SimplyBiz Investment Services. It will also enable advisers to provide their clients with directive investment allocations, tailored to their individual risk appetite, through the Group’s Centra planning tool.

Advisers will be able to use unique risk and return portfolios to match the client’s exact requirements, in a way previously accessible only to institutional investors. The ‘appropriateness’ of each investment is continually maintained and assessed for each client, working seamlessly across both accumulation and decumulation phases. Asset managers will also be able to align their products and services with the advice process used by advisers, building funds and model portfolios to match the asset allocations.

Andy Green, Chief Investment Officer at Hymans Robertson commented on the partnership:

“By adopting this technology, The SimplyBiz Group has clearly prioritised and responded to the needs of its network. Our Strategic Asset Allocation guides asset managers in creating portfolios for the adviser community that exactly match the client’s needs and expectations. Crucially, advisers will gain more tangible transparency over their investment managers’ performance against a benchmarked Index. This will provide much-needed insight on the impact of asset managers’ tactical choices against the backdrop of their clients’ longer term strategic objective.”

Dan Russell, Managing Director of SimplyBiz Investment Services, part of The SimplyBiz Group, added:

“Advisers know that Centra has saved them time and money by having the entire investment advice process - risk profiling, goals planning, investment research and suitability reports - all in one simple system. Now, Hymans Robertson’s in-depth understanding of the pensions and investment landscape allows us to bolster our existing investment committee and bring institutional grade expertise to the retail adviser market. Introducing this enhanced expertise to our members will ensure they remain at the cutting edge of investment capability, that manufacturers will seek to align themselves as part of the adviser’s supply chain, and that clients continue to receive the highest standards of advice and exceptional outcomes.”
