Mahad Farooqui has joined Hymans Robertson’s risk transfer team against the backdrop of a record number of buy-in and buy-outs transacting over the first half of this calendar year. Mahad’s move further bolsters the firm's risk transfer team, who oversee the process of transferring the risk of defined benefit (DB) pension schemes.
Mahad brings a wealth of experience from his time as a risk transfer consultant at Aon, having previously worked at Mercer. Mahad has experience in managing buy-in and buy-out projects and will use his experience to deliver the best outcomes for DB scheme members as they move to buy-out.
Commenting on Mahad’s appointment to the risk transfer team, James Mullins, Partner and Head of Risk Transfer Solutions at Hymans Robertson says:
“We look forward to strengthening our team with the benefit of Mahad’s experience and hearing his fresh perspectives of the risk transfer market. His understanding of the buy-in market will ensure that the members of the schemes we work with will be granted the best possible outcomes during the whole buy-out process and beyond.
“Mahad’s appointment is part of our continual expansion of the risk transfer team’s expertise. His experience furthers adds to the growing knowledge of the team and comes after Catherine Thain and Christian Ah-See joined the firm in August.”
Commenting on his new role, Mahad adds:
“It’s an especially exciting time in the risk transfer market, with a record number of deals due to transact this calendar year, and I look forward to solidifying the foundations of the risk transfer team at Hymans Robertson.
“I’m excited to get stuck in and get to know the team. Having met many of the team already, I look forward to being part of an innovative, friendly and hard-working group of people.”
