We speak with Yvonne Petronzio our Business Continuity & Information Security Manager about the creation of a very interesting new role in her team.

Why was this role created?

 Information security is high on everyone’s agenda internally and externally with our clients, we need to ensure we protect our own and our client’s information, our reputation depends on it.  Also, in the world today, we face many challenges which require us to have good business continuity plans and processes in place, from cyber to business interruption risks.  Due to the increasing workload in both of these areas, this role has been created to support and work closely with me.  It will sit within the Risk and Compliance team, which has 6 team members led by the Head of Risk and Compliance.  We are a friendly, hardworking, diverse team who are willing to help each other even if it is not our area of speciality.

Tell us more about the role and the type of person you are seeking

The person who fills this role will be highly visible and communicating with all levels of the business.  They will work with me to ensure we are aligned to the international standards of IS and BC and they will be part of the ongoing company strategy. The successful applicant can make a  real difference in this role, you will be involved in client tenders, protecting staff from business interruption risks and helping to retain our ISO accreditation as well as helping people in their daily working life. 

The ideal person for the role will be someone who has a strong interest in information security and business interruption risks.  Someone with a positive mind set.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must and the ability to work in a team but also to be happy to take on tasks on their own.  There will be great learning opportunities for whoever joins the team and room to gain professional qualifications if desired.
