What is your role at Hymans Robertson? 

I am an Applications Developer/Software Engineer which involves working on software products for our clients, including working on websites and modelling products as well as projects including recent work on Focal point, the Club Vita website and our PensionsWeb product.

How long have you worked here?

20+ years! I initially worked in Insured Adminstration as an Administrator then became a Team Leader before retraining to become a developer. I attended evening classes and Hymans flexi-time options helped me manage my time during this period. On completion of my studies a role came up in applications development and I have been working in this area for 10+ years.

What the best thing about your job? 

I get paid to play with computers all day!

How would you describe the culture here? 

It's a very open culture where everyone cares about doing a great job for our clients and for each other.

What's great about working here?

There is a lack of hierarchy and I genuinely feel listened to. New ideas are encouraged and supported, we have a great physical environment to work within and some really cool technology.
