Coronavirus (COVID-19)

After an extraordinary few years, we’re pleased to be able to look ahead and share our hybrid approach to work post-pandemic.

Last Updated: 26 September 2023

Our ‘Reimagining Working Life’ group developed our new hybrid approach which we adopted from March 2022 as our business-as-usual way of working. Embracing the ‘best of both worlds’, it lets us lock-in the positives of working remotely, while keeping the office environment which is so important to our culture here at Hymans Robertson.

It’s been great to move to this new, more agile flexible way of working which has been developed based on feedback from our people. Serving our clients’ needs is our priority and introducing this new hybrid working approach gives us the flexibility to ensure this remains the case.

You can read more details on our hybrid working approach here. If you’re thinking of applying to work with us, you can find out a bit more here.

Our Continuity Management Team (CMT), which oversaw the seamless transition to fully remote working when the pandemic hit in 2020, carried out detailed planning and preparation work to allow us to re-open our offices safely. We have and will continue to make sure that any necessary measures are in place to both comply with government guidance and to ensure the safety of our employees and visitors to our offices. All of our offices are open at full capacity.

It’s also been wonderful to welcome more of our clients back into our offices for face-to-face meetings once again.

As we moved to hybrid working, we’ve ensured that we have robust and secure technology and systems to allow us to continue to work remotely successfully. Our IT network is stable and our cyber security controls continue to protect our clients and those working remotely; these controls offer the same protection as they would in our offices. Our remote workers connect to our network through a secure VPN tunnel which uses multi-factor authentication. We have policies, processes and guidance to which all staff must adhere, which outlines our secure working practices outside of the office.

We’ve also been considering how we can embrace other benefits from our experience over the last year or so. A particular focus will be our use of video technology to facilitate client and internal meetings, helping to reduce travel overall, supporting everyone’s wellbeing and using what we have learnt to create an even more inclusive environment. Our goal is to travel less and travel smarter so we can reduce our carbon footprint in line with our climate pledge.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact your usual Hymans Robertson contact or email marketing@hymans.co.uk.

Fraud Guidance

Criminals continue to take any opportunity to approach pension scheme members, savers and investors (especially the more vulnerable in our society) who may be worried about their finances.

Scams are hard to spot and are often disguised with believable websites, testimonials and materials which make them look like the real thing.

If you don’t spot these as fraudulent activity, you could end up disclosing personal or financial information allowing the criminal to misuse your data for fraudulent purposes.

Don’t let a scammer enjoy your retirement, click here for guidance on how you can protect yourself. You can see a list of common fraud techniques here.
